The Love Dare - Day 1

Starting Day One of the Love Dare. I have a feeling this is going to be tough… not today specifically, but getting through the 40 days.

I’m not sure what happened to my sweet husband and me. Somewhere along the way we lost touch with each other. I’m praying this will help change that.

Today’s Word: Patient. I know I am not very patient with my husband at all…

Ephesians 4:2 “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”

Favorite Passage: “… patience is a deep breath. It clears the air. It stops foolishness for whipping its scorpion tail all over the room. It is a choice to control your emotions rather than allowing your emotions to control you, and shows discretion instead of returning evil for evil.”

The Dare - The first part of this dare is fairly simple. Although love is communicated in a number of ways, our words often reflect the condition of our heart. For the next day, resolve to demonstrate patience and say nothing negative to your spouse at all. If the temptation arises, choose not to say anything. It’s better to hold your tongue than to say something you’ll regret.

So… here we go… This seems simple enough. I think I can do this today. Check back later for a post on how my day went…

Love Dare

Tomorrow I begin The Love Dare…

I have neglected my husband and our relationship for a while now. God has been dealing with some things in my life and has prepared me for this journey I will take.

I know the challenge is difficult. I know the challenge will take courage. I also know it will take determination to finish it.

I can’t wait to see what God reveals to me as I embark on this journey… I will post about it here.

My husband is my audacious prayer… that he would be completely sold out to Christ. But first I need to correct my attitude and fix the problems I have as a wife. :)

A New Season

I’m entering a new season..

I have spent the last few months learning more about my walk with God and more about myself. I am a leader of the Celebrate Recovery at my church, and it has changed my life.

For the first time ever, I have nothing to hide! I am living my life completely in the Light of Christ. :)

I also just read the book Sun Stand Still by Stephen Furtick. I would recommend it for anyone… it is a great book! I have been praying audacious prayers ever since.

I can’t wait to see what God will do…
